Janet M. Mainenti, M.A., SPHR, Senior Consultant

Janet has 20 years of experience in strategic management, organizational development, and human resources within diverse professional environments including international and not-for-profit organizations. She is a skilled professional who has been a key leader and strategic partner of business management teams in the areas of organizational behavior, risk management, and human resources administration.

Through her extensive involvement with organizations she has focused companies on strategic planning to align business goals with staff development and succession planning. She has developed innovative programs that attract high-caliber employees and foster an exceptional work environment. Janet has functioned as both coach and advisor to senior staff and executives, with the ability to drive strategic management through human resources and organizational development as an integral component for overall business success. She has a proven track record in developing and implementing policies and procedures that impact bottom-line performance and is successful in planning and developing initiatives that drive organizational growth. She has consulted with and worked with a number of private, public, and union organizations , including a number of years as Director of Human Resources with the Easter Seal Society. Most recently, she served as Chief Administrative Officer for a multi-state, global organization.

Janet has functioned as a faculty member for the University of Phoenix, Chapman University, and Keller Graduate School of Management. She has developed and presented curricula in the areas of organizational behavior and management and all areas of human resources including compensation, safety, health, and benefits, labor law, employee and union relations, and recruiting and employee selection; both at the graduate and undergraduate levels. She has functioned as capstone advisor for Master’s program candidates. She also has facilitated SHRM study groups for certification test preparation.

Janet received her undergraduate degree in Applied Psychology from California State University, Long Beach, and received her Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from National University. She is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) through the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). She is a national and local member of SHRM, a national member of American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) and a member of North County Personnel Association (NCPA) in which she has served on the Board in the capacity of Education and Scholarship Chair since 2004.
