Dan Monez specializes in training and consulting in the areas of Workplace and School Violence Prevention and Intervention, Violence Risk Assessment and Site Security. He has 33 years of law enforcement experience predominately devoted to supervision and management. Dan\0x2019s career has spanned four California law enforcement agencies with 17 years as Chief of Police for the City of Napa.
Dan has conducted violence prevention workshops and worksite security surveys for school districts and government agencies, as well as for private sector organizations. As a consultant, Dan has assisted with interventions for a variety of difficult employee issues and has provided individualized coaching to enhance employee performance. He has developed and taught courses for school districts in Conflict Resolution, Successful Communication and Effectively Parenting Teenagers. His training and consulting provide insightful, practical direction to Human Resources and Management professionals for recognizing and dealing with difficult and/or potentially dangerous individuals in the workplace and worksite security deficiencies. Additionally, Dan teaches college-level courses in Leadership, and Race Relations/Racial Profiling.
Dan has an extensive background in crisis negotiation as a law enforcement hostage negotiator and in labor negotiations for both sides of the table, management and labor. He is considered an expert in public sector personnel law particularly in the areas of discipline and termination cases.
An accomplished stage actor, Dan has also been trained in the art of improvisational comedy. He brings these unique skills to his training and speaking presentations and his audiences often comment on their appreciation of his high energy and comedic wit.
Dan holds Management and Executive Certificates from the California Peace Officer Standards and Training. He was admitted as a Fellow by the Western Society of Criminology in 1996.
