Dr. Manny Tau is a California licensed psychologist (PSY14892) with specializations in clinical & forensic psychology. His areas of expertise involve highly specialized consultations and interventions with private and public sector organizations throughout the United States, providing assessment, investigative and problem-solving oriented services to discretely resolve sensitive and delicate situations. These matters may involve incidences of inappropriate behavior with executive management or elected officials; discrimination, sexual harassment, substance abuse or other performance issues with high profile personnel; crisis debriefing and critical incident stress management when trauma strikes an individual, team or organization; and other behavioral issues related to leadership and human resources.

Dr. Tau is also an expert in assessing threats to an organization and active threat management, and has been extensively used as a workplace violence and threat management consultant for many recognized federal, state, county, city, and private organizations nationwide. He assists organizations in the development of violence prevention programs, training and implementing crisis management teams, and training management and employees on the warning signs and strategies associated with problematic employees. His expertise in threat assessment assists organizations in their efforts to contain and effectively manage potentially violent situations and in implementing appropriate intervention strategies in order to minimize risk to personnel and property.

Dr. Tau’s background includes bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Biological Sciences, master’s and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology, and extensive clinical and forensic training and services in the private and public sectors. He has over 10 years experience in the psychiatric hospital setting, and was the Clinical Director of an inpatient psychiatric program providing comprehensive services for psychological disorders and substance abuse. Dr. Tau currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals, San Diego Chapter, and has served on the Board of Directors for the California Psychological Association, the Orange County Psychological Association and Laura’s House Domestic Violence Shelter. He has received several awards on both the state and county levels for his contributions and efforts in the profession of psychology.

An experienced and dynamic speaker, Dr. Tau has presented nationwide on organizational leadership and dynamic thinking for the American Management Association, and also on the topics of workplace violence and threat assessments for corporations throughout the United States. He has presented for organizations in the health, human resources and legal fields, and has appeared in newsprint, radio, television and Internet media. Dr. Tau has authored numerous articles on workplace violence and related issues, and data-jacking prevention and digital confidentiality.
