Workplace
Violence Consultation Services and Threat Assessment
In this day and age, it is not uncommon for situations
to arise in which an employer needs assistance
in dealing with a difficult or potentially dangerous
employee. Our experts are available on a 24-hour
basis for emergencies and crisis situations. We
assist in assessing and intervening with instances
in which an employee has demonstrated potential
for engaging in actions that could be destructive
to an organization's customers, employees or property.
We offer practical guidance to professionals who
are faced with such choices as whether to reprimand,
take disciplinary action, suspend or terminate.
Additionally, our licensed psychologists are trained
to administer psychological tests, evaluate findings
and offer recommendations for appropriate action
in these specialized cases. Baron Center, Inc.
also offers referrals for security and legal assistance,
when necessary, as well as follow-up services.
Trauma Response
When tragedy strikes a work site, we provide caring,
effective and immediate intervention. Our expertise
includes assisting employees following robberies,
workplace assault/homicide and unexpected illness,
injury or death of an employee. Our staff includes
licensed mental health professionals trained specifically
in trauma response. We also assist management
and human resource professionals in coordinating
continuing care, when necessary. Our focus is
on brief, collaborative intervention in both individual
and group formats. Additionally, we tailor our
interventions to the characteristics of the specific
incident and the demographics of the workforce.
Fitness-for-Duty
and Psychological Evaluations
When the ability of an employee to engage in the
duties of the job becomes compromised due to mental
illness or psychological trauma, the health and
safety of both the employee and the organization
as a whole become a central issue. Our licensed
psychologists provide comprehensive assessments
to determine whether an employee is psychologically
able to remain on the job or ready to safely return
to work following a leave of absence.
Sexual
Harassment Awareness Training
When an individual within an organization is identified
as engaging in sexual harassment or other hostile
behavior, the ramifications for the organization
can be costly. We offer individualized, one-on-one
awareness training to educate about the types
of behavior considered to be sexual harassment,
with an emphasis on increasing consciousness about
the emotional and interpersonal dynamics associated
with this type of behavior and preventing further
harassment. Additional focus is placed on providing
practical information about the legal and organizational
issues related to sexual harassment and on developing
appropriate and effective ways of communicating.
